& The "Denialist" Mindset
"♡ Abuse & Injustice (understandably) both affect me greatly - perhaps more than any other topic. I apologise for my verbosity. I had thoughts and wrote an essay.
Popular-but-Inaccurate "Lifestyle Choice" Blaming/Shaming is still too socially prevalent (Though statistically declining!).
Invalidation (via Phys./Verbal Abuse, "ISMs", ...) runs so rampant in our social fabric that most people aren't even aware of how harmful & cyclical the effects ARE; let alone what psychological invalidation even IS. Invalidation helps to create abusers & victims.
Referring to Domestic Violence as !!"just"!! reinforces a victim's low self-image & is frequently perceived as sending a very dark message: "You're not worth helping. Your needs and pain aren't real cos it's your own fault for loving your abuser anyhow & Your mistakes are the unforgivable sort. You'll keep going back so don't waste our time. You don't matter nor do you deserve help."
I’ve been taught, & have since experienced, observed, studied, & discovered that Shaming & Invalidation are THE most antisocial of the ideals & behaviours which continue to contribute to our Western Culture’s most heinous injustices. The most vile of Society’s Culturally Indoctrinated and Systemic “ILLs” & "-ISMs" are able to absolutely FLOURISH within a counter-intuitive setting as such. Contributing in tandem are those who simply refuse to either acknowledge the occurrences thereof, or are even unable to remotely consider to “believe” in something so simple to see when one bothers to look for only a Moment. And Let ALONE the myriad centuries of proof of such horrific systems.
Whilst said populace is perceptually and demonstrably OK with Society’s confusingly inexplicable & VERY OFTEN Socially Harmful - even devastating and Fatal - practice of National Indoctrination re: FAITH, RELIGION, & it’s accompanying Fantastic & Impossible/Improbable FABLES? & Each tenet, lesson, & concept being more Fallible, Contradictory, & Illogically intangible than the last? Worse still are the mandatory mental gymnastics one must regularly & wholeheartedly participate in to ensure the acceptance of the majority of those who are publicly and proudly Faithful • Religion is “Magical Thinking” - best said by the Quote by Pastor Laruffa (see meme below) . • Somehow those who possess the mindset imperative to the trifecta of Racism, Righteous Faith, & ZERO Self-Awareness (so that one may blindly cherry-pick God’s supposed Word - as it's a lot of drivel & contradictory *nonsense) are inexplicably offended by ACTUAL FACTS & Truth Seekers.
The response of the Righteously aka. Judgmentally Faithful is indignation & ire. Though bafflingly at odds with reality, it’s far more popular to simply BELIEVE:
- that a magic and virgin-born avatar/prophet walked on water?
- that said avatar recovered from a 3-day death?
- that he needed to die in order to SAVE humanity from himself?
- that his saving us would protect us from **The Wrath of GOD! ?due to the Original Sin myth. A myth God forever pins to each innocent baby’s fontanelle
- ‘til they agree to “like” his son, that is...
The Scientifically PROVEN existence of "-ISMs" are akin to an angry confrontation when even broached amongst those most misguided and frustratingly pridefully faithful is en vogue. Rather than embrace humility and new truths, they are terrified of change. To lose the most gullible piece of SELF. To exist as counter-productive denialists, apologists, justifiers, & practitioners of indoctrinated and systemic and interwoven LIES where no progression can occur is horrible and enangering. When the need to argue one’s ideologies (ie. debating over the insidiousness of wearing "hoodies" v. REALITY: A Genuine Child - unarmed, NON-threatening (albeit only to those who are NOT predisposed to a sense of entitled & self-righteous Racism) and innocent of any wrongdoing - was Cold-Bloodedly MURDERED for the “crime” of existing in a society where SOMEHOW, it’s deemed socially OK to engage in cognitive dissonant behaviours which discourage the development of empathy for others if one feels that they simply can’t relate to them:-

Again: The Scientifically PROVEN existence of "-ISMs" - each concluding that “Racism is Real, Harmful, & WRONG” - have be repeatedly replicated & peer-reviewed and they ARE ACCURATE - however disatisfactory the vocal (barely) minority who hate being told what to believe and won’t believe what they’ve never experienced , despite their own support of the systemic indoctrination which we’re each subjected to since birth, and which is also 100% scientifically confirmed to be counterproductive, unintuitive, and harmful to those who are imagined to matter less by those who hold the power and purse strings - as shown by EVERY LAST BIT OF SCIENTIFIC METHOD AVAILABLE!, and by our mores, systems, media, & anthropology. The fallacy behind the thought error that THE most Unforgivable SIN = Melanin-Rich SKIN is a social contstuct ACCEPTED AND PRIORITISED long before grieving, learning, comforting each other, and changing.
A population that incorporates superfluous laughter as conversational punctuation; that replies, "I'm well, thanks! How're you?" even whilst entering the doorway of a funeral home; that fears witnessing the emotional discomfort of others SO greatly that "Silent Suffering" is a freaking Virtue!, despite silence being the #1 Essential Ingredient for generations of horror. Silence is behind the flourishing of incest, rape, violence, abuse, brainwashing, cults, sex trafficking, addictions, eating disorders, hatred, intolerance, cutting, mental illness, etc... We are taught that unpleasant emotions are "wrong" to feel, & to conform to this or be rejected. Sensitivity & tears are weakness. Just get over it....
We are taught to change our very essence - to be the opposite of how we're naturally inclined. We're encouraged to live a life of contradictions & to perform detrimental & bizarre acrobatics of thought in order to be accepted. This obviously plays a huge part in the creation of a society of both potential abusers and victims. Of people easily broken...
Socially judgmental "common sense" (?!?) beliefs & clichés (ie.: "If someone hit ME, I'd just leave!"/"You deserve it for being stupid enough to stay."/"If you need a man that badly that you put yourself and your kids in danger, you make me want to punch you, too!") keep abuse victims reluctant to seek help.
Help may be accessible but conditional & damaging. The victim's well-meaning & helpful loved ones may erroneously shame & invalidate because they themselves feel uncomfortable when the victim's sad. They may deny, criticise, &/or negate ones right to feel the numerous paradoxical emotions felt by an abuse victim (ie. grief, sadness, shock, anger, resentment, etc... - "It's stupid to miss someone who hit you!/It's time to stop feeling sorry for yourself/to stop dwelling/to meet someone else/to live again/to stop thinking like a victim/ do __& Then you'll feel better!").
Humans may lower self-esteem further by "debating" the victim's emotional response to the abuse - a "ratio" based in faulty "logic" where an attempt is made to quantify emotions despite the utter impossibility of doing so, let alone the needlessness of such a practice (the length of time spent feeling sadness & its intensity MUST be proportionate the "level" of abuse experienced - physical v. mental v. verbal, length of time in relationship, frequency, police involvement, etc...). Such actions may influence not only a potential return to the abuser, but may've even inadvertently fostered the victim's first psychological acclimatisation towards an, "Abuse = Love" entanglement.
Far too little priority's placed upon cognitive & emotional healing, freedom, & empathy. Neither are Anthro-Socio-Neuro-Economic evidentiary factors widespread knowledge, & I think an educational initiative on a massive scale is long overdue.
Every one of us who expresses horror when witnessing abuse; who tries to get it to stop; who breaks free from the Politely Apathetic & Festering Loculations of Social Purulence & the counterintuitive "virtue" of Silence, Invalidation, & Fear of feelings, of truth, & of self; who stands up for those who can't because we know it's unconscionable to do nothing &/or cos no one else will (& we probably also remember needing help that never arrived so we vowed that we'd help others when we grew up) - we become that much closer to truly making the world better.

- *nonsense which is somehow inextricably bound to maintaining one’s Anti-Logic aka. “Faith” in one’s chosen Religious Holy Book (each plagiarised blatantly from past ancient religions and mythologies, vastly interpretable, & imprecisely translated at BEST; fraught with premises and rationales just BARELY conducive to the governing of an ancient & ignorant people, and certainly having no useful applications to Modern Society except as historical fiction literature, referencing ancient humans' folly, arrogance, & our lust for violence as told by the thoughts & tales of miscellaneous and anonymous writers; much as our own writings will undoubtedly offer similar to those alive thousands of years from today).
- **The Wrath of GOD!, and yet her Mythical actions and the subsequent supposedly not Mythical arrival of the Saviour known as Jesus Christ are all deemed to be necessary. Christians also believe that because of Eve, we’re all born under the black cloud of what’s referred to as Original Sin - Female Eve ate a Forbidden Fruit - ie. knowledge /the pursuit thereof - and wantonly coerced her innocent BF Adam into said same. Yet the story of Adam and Eve is almost universally believed to be - by the vast majority of Christians - a Creation Myth. Essentially Allegorical. However the same people also think that somehow Jesus Saving us all by dying ISN’T a myth. The mythological Jesus Christ who so selflessly and lovingly 'SAVED' us from the Myth of the Original Sin by actually “Dying” (however that’s a strong word for what was actually a mere 3 day life-break. Far less terrible than the permanent death afforded to the lot of everyone else.) cos Eve’s mythological behaviours somehow rendered each subsequent generation FOREVER to be tainted at birth by her behaviour (that "god" absolutely knew WOULD happen!) The Original Sin. THUS Women were first Cemented into Religion - from the get-go - as Heathens & rebellious harlots. The first slightly interesting entry in Genesis is so highly misogynist & yet some version of this story exists in nearly every religion in some formation - not the least of which being the “Big 3” (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam). Woman in Religion < Man. And the MAJORITY of the World is Faithful about Some kind of Religion or Another. She's seen as Stupid, Wicked, Untrustworthy & Evil. If this isn’t a social concept to be believed by anyone - especially by those who make up a portion of a cruel populace • who deny the very existence of any social injustices • despite PROOF • in favour of religious nonsense withOUT proof? Please REFER to the silly & gory story Samson and Delilah. Samson even goes to prostitutes unapologetically whilst involved with the o’ so villainous and treacherous Delilah; no? What about the classic story of Sodom and Gomorrah - not only does a man offer his daughters up to a gang-rape-loving crowd as an alternative to their raping the male angel visitors he’s entertaining - but later, God acts like a dick and tells “Lot’s wife" not to look back as their entire city burns (for NO apparent reason he says not to, mind you) but the "silly bitch" just won’t listen - so God turns her into a PILLAR of Freaking SALT!?!? The Allegorical Mythology of EVE and her snack-craving resulted in (for no reason other than the Abrahamic God is an utter douchebag) “punishment” via the pain of childbirth *for not only her, but every subsequent woman FOREVER*. Life SUCKS and we all Suffer and Die cos of Eve - although really, it’s not EVE at all, but cos God·myth sits there sociopathically devising sick and twisted plans to punish humans for acting like humans. God needn’t do ANY of this if he’s truly Omni Prescient, Powerful, and Sentient, but he DOES. He’s like a shitty boyfriend who hits his woman & SAYS SHE MADE him do it by asking the wrong question. Even for him to get around to saving humanity he couldn’t just forcibly impregnate any old 12 yr. old with a magic baby, but she had to be a virgin - back when nothing was known about having a bath apparently, and the germs of past penises were thought to be PERMANENT? Just another method ordained supposedly by GOD himself in order to shame and hate women for their own God-given nature as sexual creatures - Humans - Mothers - but somehow also less worth anything...
